Is Hinge down? Users complain dating app is broken

Publish date: 2024-06-19

HINGE users are apparently having trouble accessing the popular dating app.

A surge in reports was picked up by Down Detector at around 3.30pm UK time on July 12.

More than 2,500 reports were logged in the US.

Meanwhile just over 800 were detected from the UK.

It appears people can't log into the app.

A popup is telling users they made too many login attempts.

Hinge has around 20million users, with about 800,000 people paying for its premium service as of last year.

Users have taken to social media to check it's not just their app that isn't working.

"Is there a problem with the app?," one confused user wrote on Twitter.

"I was logged in this morning but now you have logged me out and won’t let me log back in, saying too many requests from my number when trying to sign in via mobile number."

"hinge went down just as i start talking to a new person," another said.

A third added: "Why did I just get signed out of hinge and told there were too many login attempts."

It's not clear what has caused the latest problem as yet.

Nor is there any indication of how widespread it is.

Reports started to slowdown at around 4pm UK, suggesting some users may be back on.
