Ginger the lumberjack: GMA fans praise Ginger Zee as she tells how to get Christmas tree
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘Good Morning America’ meteorologist Ginger Zee has urged fans and followers of the morning show to get their Christmas trees from the national forest that has a permit for the same.
The 42-year-old recently hosted a segment on the morning show about how national forests across the US allow people to cut trees for Christmas to “protect endangered species, prevent wildfire” and preserve “forest health”.
Zee took to Instagram to document her visit to one such national forest which has the permit to allow people to come and cut their “Christmas tree” at a low cost.
Ginger Zee shares news about ‘Christmas trees’
The ‘GMA’ star shared a few pictures from her latest visit to Ocala National Forest in Marion County, Florida.
In a photo, Zee wore a purple lumberjack shirt with gloves and blue denim as she posted with a woodcutter. She also shared a morphed photo of a family visiting the forest to get a Christmas tree
Talking about how national forests are giving permits to people to come up and cut their Christmas trees, Zee wrote in her caption, “We got that tree! $10 permit here at Ocala National Forest gets you up to 5 trees!”
“They need help thinning the forest for its health — national forests around the nation need help preventing wildfire, protecting endangered species, etc. so they ask you to come in and cut the problematic trees out!”
She continued, “Check out recreation.gov to see participating national forests and have a fun adventure with your family. Permits open up this Friday for most. #christmastree #tree #christmas #pine #sandpine thanks @nickswxpics for the photoshop @danpeckwx @dmanzo1013."
Zee also shot a small clip for her Instagram where she told the followers about the National Christmas Tree Program. In the clip, Zee said, “You can get a Christmas tree by cutting down a tree at the national forest."
Zee spoke about the benefits of cutting the trees at the national forest and said, “They are ecological and they want you to cut it down."
She captioned her clip, “Get a fresh-cut tree for as low as $2! Average fresh-cut Christmas trees last year cost $80… if that’s not in the budget, visit recreation.gov to find a national forest near you that has permits for Christmas trees for as low as $2 as they do here at Ocala National Forest. And it is good for the enviornment."

A fourth stated, “Another fabulous segment on how we can save money thank you, Ginger."
