FamilySearch opens a new center in Logan, Utah
FamilySearch will open a new center in North Logan, Utah, on Monday, Sept. 25, according to a news release.
An open house for the new center will be held Friday, Sept. 22, from 1 to 5 p.m., and Saturday, Sept. 23, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Logan Utah FamilySearch Center, located at 165 East 2200 North in North Logan, offers interactive family history discovery activities for people of all ages at no cost.
What does the new FamilySearch Center offer?
The new FamilySearch Center will feature 13 discovery stations, including the following:
There is also a recording room, “Record My Story,” to digitally capture personal and family memories on video.
The center has 33 patron computers, as well as a computer learning lab capable of supporting groups of up to 18 persons.
The center will offer free monthly classes and is staffed by local volunteers. A small play area for children and a kitchen/snack area are also provided.
People with family memories in the form of old photos, slides, negatives, film, video or reel-to-reels may bring them to the FamilySearch Center, which has the equipment to convert them to digital for preservation and storage online or on a portable hard drive.
