Adam Lambert's Parents Put Him in a Theater Group Where He Discovered His Love for Performing

Lambert's fame opened many opportunities for him, including landing a starring role in the 2018 biographical musical-drama film "Bohemian Rhapsody." In the movie, Lambert plays the role of a taxi driver whom Freddie Mercury (Rami Malek) has his first gay experience with.
Adam's Parents Divorced When He Was 19
Adam Lambert's parents, Leila and Eber, tied the knot on May 3, 1981, but went their separate ways when their superstar son was 19. Lambert's mother remarried a man named Ray, while his father lives with his longtime girlfriend, Amy Wallen.
Even though Lambert ventured into the entertainment industry, his father was a computer program manager, and his mother was an interior designer.

Adam, a member of the LGBTQ+ community, revealed that his mother supported him when he got candid about his sexuality. He said that he was never made to feel bad about being gay and that his mother initiated the conversation. Speaking to People, he said:
"When we had the coming out conversation, she kind of initiated it, which was hilarious. At that point, it was great because then we could talk about everything."
In 2009, when Adam rose to fame, his mother found it difficult to come to terms with the fact that her son had become a global superstar. Speaking to Woman's Day, Adam's mother stated that she was having difficulty adjusting to the transition.

She, however, noted that despite her son rising to fame, his lifestyle hadn't changed and that he was still living in the same town and had maintained the same friends. Although Adam's mother admitted that her son's movements were now limited, she said Adam appreciated the support he got from his fans.
Adam Lambert's Dad Wanted Him to Apologize for One of His Performances
Adam once disappointed some of his fans during one of his performances. When he appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," the singer spoke about his performance that shocked many people.
He said he may have crossed a line or two with his performance and dressing, but he didn't intend to disrespect anyone. Following the incident, Adam's mother supported him, but his father wanted him to apologize. Even though Adam apologized, he said that he didn't feel like he did anything wrong.
Adam's Parents Signed Him up for Theater to Contain His Hyperactivity
When growing up, Adam didn't shy away from who he was and his sexuality; as a result, he became an outsider. In 2018, the singer opened up to The Guardian about his hard time in middle school.
Adam stated that he was a weird kid with no friends, and during that time—as a gay person—he was experiencing different body changes. The only thing that comforted him was joining the music theater, where he started singing at ten. He said his parents enrolled him in the theater group to hone his talent.
